Isco's rebounded strike three minutes before half-time was enough to secure Madrid a place in their second consecutive Champions League final as the defending champions advanced over their local rivals 4-2 on aggregate.
The club has achieved an overwhelming amount of success in the tournament, but under club President Florentino Perez, who took over as Madrid chief in 2000, there have been 14 managers in 17 years during his two term's in charge.
The 70-year-old has repeatedly displayed a penchant for hiring and firing managers, with the Madrid President saying of his decision to relieve 2014 Champions League winning manager Carlo Ancelotti of his duties that "this club the demands are huge and we need a new impulse in order to win trophies and be at our best."
Dunphy said that Perez was constantly looking for a new 'high' as Madrid President and that the Real chief was chasing a sensation similar to using crack cocaine.
"There's no normal, this is an exceptional club," said Dunphy.
"You can win the double and get sacked immediately, which happened to Jupp Heynckes, when he got sacked having won the treble with Bayern Munich to accommodate [Pep] Guardiola.
"President Perez is the man. His motivation is to hit a new high every year. It's like being on crack cocaine. It's mad stuff because there's no normal."
Users on Twitter were quick to pick up on Dunphy's unusual comparison which seemed to cause quite a sitr.
